Institute.uk.com
high-brand fashion eRetailer
Successful retailer, Institute, selected Squarefruit to deliver the goods on new venture, Institute.uk.com.
From a 'clean sheet' starting point, the requirement for the development of a brand identity, site design, eCommerce build and marketing strategies was clear.

We need to match the quality and image of the brands that are being sold through the store so that Institute didn't merely join rank and file with a number of other sites in the sector. On top of that, we need to create an experience for users that ensured that they viewed Institute as the brand they most related to and would take an amount of ownership for to keep us on top.

Technically, the site is a hybrid of many discplines including Flash, XML, .NET, ASP.
Graphically it's the same story. In-house photography skills have been employed to really give punch to the products and help turn a casual browser into a buying customer.

Saxon Leather
hand crafted traditional and contemporary leather furniture
Multi-million pound, Bolton based furniture manufacturers Saxon Leather approached Squarefruit to produce a full ecommerce solution. Our challenge was to reflect the quality of the furniture in the site experience and to allow users access and control over as much information as possible that would help support buying decisions.

The Climbers Shop
outdoor clothing, tools and accessories specialist retailer
With over 33000 products available and an increasingly recognisable brand, The Climbers Shop needed to take a fresh approach to their eCommerce offering. We imported all 30000+ product records from their existing EPOS database to our flexible eCommerce system and completely overhauled the design, layout and navigation to create an almost infinitely scaleable, easily maintainable and robust solution.

An increasingly successfull client, we have developed a postive, ongoing relationship that pushes the site to hit new heights **

Dearden
NHS management consultancy firm
Dearden are an organisational development consultancy concerned with change and improvement in health and social care systems.

Dearden expected that users would use the site as a research tool and therefore spend an unusual (for a website) amount of time gathering information. As such, they wanted Squarefruit to produce a website with an environment that was not distracting but never-the-less retained an element of dynamism.

Playing on the nature theme of their brand identity, Squarefruit developed a landscape environment in which a tree exists and whose leaves grow and fall with the passing of time. The brief also required the site to be flexible to a Content Management System. We designed the site accordingly, delivered the Content Management System and gave a half-day, on-site training session to the proud new owners.

Marie Wright
printmaker / papermaker
Marie creates a distinctive range of screen for contemporary interiors, vibrant printed textile hangings and the most delicate hand-made paper works. Marie primarily required a Brand Identity and Website that was visually stimulating without detracting from her own featured work. She also required a Content Management System as this would allow her to save money by updating the site herself.

Lakeland Fly-Tying
Fly-tying and Fly-fishing materials retailer
This is a BIG project. We were approached by the Managing Director of the Lakeland Fly-tying company to produce A NEW CORPORATE IMAGE, A BRAND NEW WEB PRESENCE and an E-COMMERCE FACILITY that would stock over a THOUSAND products.

Furthermore, the project needed to be completed within a modest budget. Given these objectives, we responded to the challenge and have produced what our client considers to be the BEST on-line fishing resource bar none.

Paramount to this project was displaying the products in the best possible way, as their appearance is the key issue to our client’s customers. Clearly it is not possible for the end-user to physically interact with a product until after it has been purchased, but our aim was to provide them with the closest possible representation.

Each image has been produced and mastered in-house in a way that has not been attempted before for a business of this kind. Image quality has not been sacrificed at the expense of download time either, as part of the design brief was the speed at which users can access the site.
